Most Caffeinated U.S. Cities

without comments

caffeine

Tampa, Florida is the most caffeinated city in the U.S., followed by Seattle and Chicago. However, they won the top spot not only for their fondness to coffee, but also for drinking lots of tea and for being the most likely to take pain relievers containing caffeine on a daily basis. The twin cities Riverside/San Bernardino in California consume the least amount of caffeine, followed by Atlanta, San Diego, Minneapolis/St. Paul and Dallas. [abcnews.go.com]

N.E.R.D. – Sooner Or Later

without comments

N.E.R.D release their latest video for single, Sooner or Later, directed by the Malloy brothers. Following a stock market crash, the video reflects on our current state of economical crisis with Pharrell’s signature melodic crooning over another N.E.R.D rock infused track. Look out for a cameo by Rob Dyrdek.

I got it all on my Zune. You have a Zune?! Are you kidding me? Naw let me get my iPod

[From Engadget] ”Beginning today, the US Zunes are coming a little more in line with their Canadian brethren by falling from $129 to $99 (4GB), $149 to $139 (8GB) and $199 to $179 (16GB)”

They should drop the price of those monstrosities that Microsoft calls MP3 players, because they suck. They might be the most expensive paper weights I have ever laid eyes on (Other than the solid gold cast of my face that I use as a paper weight)

Not to mention they look like poop, yes I said poop. The Chief Designer of the Zune probably went to ITT Tech and got his degree in night school.

Im really digging the new Kings of Leon…

without comments

I got Only By The Night a little while ago and I just really started listening to it and I have to say that Its really good. Its a new kind of sound that I haven’t heard before, and I like that.

Here is a review from Rolling Stone:

Free from their strict Pentecostal father, Kings of Leon’s Followill brothers (plus cousin Matthew) spent their first two records establishing themselves as horny Nashville youngsters with a neo-garage-rock style that got them tagged as the “Southern Strokes.” Nowadays, the Kings are feeling a different sound: Like last year’s Because of the TimesOnly by the Night is long on astral, arena-ready largeness, with blippy keyboards, droney guitars and whoa-oh-oh backing vocals. Frontman Caleb Followill cranks up his Allman Brothers howl, turning out big choruses with sometimes tough-to-parse lyrics and deep-feeling melodies reportedly influenced by pain meds he began taking after shoulder surgery. The revamped sound doesn’t always work: Cuts like the slow-burning murk-fest “Cold Desert” feel like sub-John Mayer soul — bland and overly ponderous. But when the Kings find a gussied-up groove with teeth — like the effects-laden Zeppelin stomp of “Crawl” or the pulsating, New Wave “Sex on Fire” — they sound like rock heroes experiencing the joy of well-manicured sound.

4 out of 5 stars.
